  • Nairobi

Term: Throughout the year
Dates: 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month

Description: Global Crossroad has organized the Kenya internship program especially for international students in several different areas, including caring for orphaned children, sustainable agriculture and conservation, English teaching, and health care. Global Crossroad can offer internships in Kenya in any area related to Kenya, in collaboration with our local partners. These areas may include (but are not limited to):

* Teaching English
* Caring for Orphaned Children
* Health Project
* HIV/AIDS Awareness
* Animal Care

Under the Kenya internship program, the intern engages in daily project activities. In most cases, interns develop a report paper in a particular area of interest by working closely with the Global Crossroad project staff. Generally, the director of this project serves as a supervisor for the intern. As an intern, you will stay with a host family who lives near the project in which you are involved. Most of the time, the director of the project will work to help you successfully complete your field report. Please contact Global Crossroad if you need any help locating information and materials for your internship program. In order to get the most out of your internship position in Kenya, Global Crossroad recommends at least two weeks of language and culture programs. These programs will provide you with a necessary, comprehensive start in exploring the every day issues of Kenya. Many times, language difficulties hinder the effectiveness of interning. Furthermore, it is possible to organize extra tutorials with experts in particular areas with additional fees. Global Crossroad suggests that you correspond with us if you have special needs for your internship.

Highlights: Like no other continent in the world, Africa offers breathtaking scenery, unparalleled wildlife, and rich cultures. Inviting tropical beaches, evocative scenery as in the movie "Out of Africa", abundant wildlife, and a mosaic of different cultures and traditions in Kenya offer visitors a feeling of Karibu, a Swahili word meaning welcome home visitors.

Global Crossroad's Kenya volunteer program brings you endless opportunities to explore this East African adventure land revered by anthropologists as the cradle of humanity. See this country in a different light as you join a Kenya volunteer project, explore Kenyan villages, practice Swahili, or join a jungle safari program. Explore the great land of Africa while serving the rural population affected by AIDS, poverty, and other social problems.
