Intern in Ecuador
Ecuador
- All Other Regions of Ecuador:
Guayaquil
Term: Throughout the year
Dates: 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 month programs
Description:
Join World Endeavors for an affordable and unique internship opportunity in Ecuador. A wide variety of internships are available including international business, marketing, public relations, sports management, graphic design, education, social work, architecture and landscape architecture, city planning, environmental studies, and cuisine. Many of the internships are one-of-a-kind, such as our event-coordination internship. Interns are needed to coordinate public speaking engagements for world leaders and celebrities visiting Ecuador. Another internship includes projects with a prominent city planning firm that has been responsible for the entire waterfront renovation of Guayaquil. In addition to an incredible internship, all programs of one month or longer include Spanish language training during the first two weeks. Ecuador is one of those rare destinations in the world that seems to have the right combination of natural beauty, intriguing history, and vibrant culture. Nestled along the Equator in the northwest corner of the South American continent, much of the country still remains wild and uncharted. It is a home to the highest active volcano in the world, pristine Pacific beaches, and virgin tropical rainforests as well as ancient Incan history now echoed through the lively Ecuadorian culture.
Highlights:
Participants will find ample opportunities to become immersed in Latin American life throughout their experience in Guayaquil. In addition to the internship, participants will have the chance to join a unique cultural exchange program that allows them to exchange an hour of Spanish language tutoring from a Ecuadorian student for an hour of conversation in English. This is a great way to help participants begin to integrate more into the Ecuadorian society while making friends and having fun.
Qualifications:
It is recommended that interns have some basic Spanish proficiency. Despite this, many internships are available for absolute beginners in Spanish with little experience in their preferred field. Participants are required to take a written language exam in order to assess the appropriate placement in language classes. A follow-up language interview will be conducted after participants arrive in Ecuador. Many internships are available for beginners in Spanish.
