Description: We have various internships for the adventurous scuba diving career minded person. We train you to scuba dive (or build on existing skills) and then the skills and knowledge required to teach diving. We have placements in Thailand, Cambodia or Vietnam (Although the certification is Internationally recognized and a professional qualification). The world really can be your oyster. Using the PADI system we train candidates with even No Scuba experience all the way up to instructor level (with many unique specialties and skills) allowing them to work in Asia or world wide. Within the internship fees we include full accommodation, full equipment (yours to keep), all courses, specialty courses, and all manuals and training materials - everything to get you set.

Learn-in-Asia is respected for producing only 1st class dive masters and instructors. We also run a pro-active "job placement" service. With a little effort on your behalf we assist in finding your very first entry level scuba diving job. The internship really is great value allowing you a new professional skill and qualification that can take you world wide. A new partnership with the largest divers jobs web site on the net has allowed Mermaids to be at the fore front of scuba diving employment. **New** Now we have an Asset (Association of Scuba Service Engineers & Technicians) course that can be added to any of the internships. This course cannot be taught anywhere else in Asia - we are the sole providers. This will make a budding scuba professional as valuable an employee on land as well as in the water. ALSO Underwater communication systems for diver to diver and diver to surface to be used in recreational diving - this is the future of diving.

All internship programs now include the IAHD (International Association of Handicapped Diving) specialty. As an instructor in this (we are 1 of ONLY 2 facilities in Thailand to offer this) - you will be highly employable. You are now taking a new skill to a potential employer and hence a new program and course that their dive facility can offer to the customers.

As Thailand becomes increasingly disability friendly with additional facilities and wheel chair ramps - so we should become more accommodating as dive instructors also. This will NOT ONLY make you massively employable, unique as an instructor but also allow you to share the joy of diving with a wider audience.

Mermaids PADI Career Development Center have TWO x PADI Platinum Course Directors working full time daily at the center.

Highlights: Ever been to Asia before? Ever stayed in Asia long enough to see through the veneer that tourists see? You'll become immersed in the culture here. It's incredible, the sights, the smells and the colors. It's great waking every day whistling your way to work (Internship) knowing that you are diving in the clear crystal waters that many have traveled 1000's of miles to do for a couple of weeks. Waking up to the sunshine daily and the lovely sea air, you'll be diving and showing people the beauty of the corals and the fish here in tropical Thailand during your internship. Meeting people from all walks of life and parts of the world at their best is great. Everyone that we deal with here is on holiday hence, happy and cheerful people.

It's a fantastic way to meet new people and make new friends. You help create holiday memories for visitors and become part of their memories. Best of all you get to study and teach under the palm trees and dive in the ocean daily - it's completely un-limited diving. The camaraderie between the interns is incredible. (If you have any of the above diver certifications above already then you shall be credited in full (discounted) for all - including if you have any equipment).

* All PADI Fees are paid.
* All course materials necessary from manuals to training aids.
* At least 200 dive (usual 270 dives).
* Full set of scuba equipment from Regulators to diving knife and fins to BCD. Everything (your to keep after training). We kit you up with you very own gear on the first day that you start. This equipment is yours forever!
* Accommodation for up to 7 months.
* Visa assistance to stay here as long as you need.
* An active "job placement scheme" assisting you to find employment at the end of your internship / training.
* A life-time international passport to travel the world and earn whilst doing something you love.
* During this time you shall be exposed to the delights of DPV (Diver propulsion vehicles) and technical diving courses - adding to the overall experience.
