Marine Research/ Conservation
Thailand
Term: Throughout the year
Description:
Interns focus their efforts on a single project, to be determined by a staff assessment of their skills and experience. While working in the aquarium, the intern will be expected to participate in caring for marine life, including preparing food, studying species behavioral patterns, collecting data, and doing administrative work. Depending on the individual, some interns may also fill the role of public educator for the aquarium's visitors. All research projects have both a field and lab element, although students will spend the majority of time in the lab. I.C.E. expects interns to offer a positive attitude, work ethic, and commitment to this position, along with flexibility in assisting the institute in the areas where help is needed the most. In return, you will receive an unrivalled education on the Andaman Sea from top researchers and scientists. Learning about complex marine eco-systems and aquarium management strategies through a 'hands-on' approach will leave you with the skills and confidence necessary to teach others about the Andaman Sea.
