Description:
We are looking for people who want to spend time working with the outdoor center. It could be an internship of sorts; we are offering a serene house on the edge of the river for you to stay in exchange for a few hours a day, 5 days a week. Work can consist of working in the office, graphic or web design, teaching English to our local guides or helping improve the house and property. The Corrinto River that runs by the house and the Chirripo River are both amazing and you would be able to get out on the water everyday if you like. Office responsibilities would be that of an office assistant, making reservations, answering calls and questions and returning emails.. We are also looking for those who have experience setting up sustainable living environment or teaching English to non-English speakers. Highlights:
The company is located near the small town of Guapiles. It is a great place to expand your Spanish language skills and explore Costa Rican culture. Guapile's flora and fauna are stunning; this is an excellent place also for those interested in exploring or studying the rainforest. There are many biological study centers in the area for those interested.
Qualifications:
Qualifications depend on the position in the company. River Guide - all guides must have Basic First Aid certification, Swift Water Rescue certification, experience guiding rafts in class III whitewater, excellent communication skills, a basic knowledge of Spanish is desired and experience working in a rafting company is also preferred. The company also has positions for those individuals with computer skill and website experience. Flash web page design skills are in demand here at the Costa Rica Outdoors as well. A valid driver's license is also requested.
