Description: The London Internship Program offers a semester of study and work in the historic and vibrant capital city of London, England. The program combines an internship with coursework that examines a particular academic area in the context of Great Britain's history, culture, and society. Courses in all academic areas are taught by British faculty specifically to students enrolled in the Boston University program. Upon successful completion of a semester, students earn 16 Boston University credits.

Highlights: Now in its seventeenth year, the London Internship Program offers a semester of study and work in England's exciting capital city. This program combines a professional internship with course work that examines a particular academic area in the context of Great Britain's history, culture, and society and its role in modern Europe. Courses in each academic area are taught by selected British faculty specifically to students enrolled in the Boston University program. Upon successful completion of a semester, students earn 16 Boston University credits.

The First Five Weeks (Core Phase)
Students take one core course in their academic area to prepare for the internship experience and one free elective course. Each student also meets with the program's internship advisors to refine his or her area of work placement according to ability, professional goals, experience, and work habits.

The Final Eight Weeks (Internship Phase)
Students participate in London's local work life through assigned internships that complement their particular academic concentration and personal goals. Students work full-time, four days a week, while also enrolling in a related, weekly seminar course.

Qualifications / Skills Needed: To be eligible, all applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA in their major.

Students are accepted into one of the programs nine different academic areas, which cover a wide variety of fields.

All students must complete the full 16-credit program, enrolling in three academic courses and one internship course.
