Geneva Internship Program

Term: Fall, Spring 
Dates: Fall: early September to mid-December; Spring: mid-January to late April

Description: Boston University's Geneva Internship Program will provide students with the opportunity to connect with and play a role in these global concerns through an in-depth professional internship and carefully focused coursework. It is a semester designed to bring students from international theory to international practice. Upon successful completion of the semester, students will earn 16 Boston University credits.

This program is designed for students specializing in international relations, public health, and other fields and will provide a unique opportunity to connect with and play a role in these global organizations through an in-depth professional internship and carefully focused coursework.

Highlights: Internship (four credits)
Most students will be placed in one of the many international political, health-related, economic, and humanitarian organizations headquartered in Geneva. Additional internships will be available in arts and arts administration, communications, international business and finance. Internships will be available in both English and French.

Geneva is a unique city; although situated in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, its population is one-third non-Swiss, making it one of Europe's most international metropolitan centers. The presence of the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the International Red Cross, and more than 250 other international organizations lets us offer both coursework and internship placements in English, the common language of Geneva's multilingual and cosmopolitan community.

* Minimum 3.0 average (in major and overall); * No prior language study is required, but a background in French is highly beneficial to the student. Students who wish to participate in a French-based internship must demonstrate French language proficiency.
